    "An Ounce of Prevention": The Benefits of Corporate Wellness Programs

    Emilyn Gipson, M.S. LMFT will present a program on using wellness incentives and employee self-care goals to reduce absenteeism, increase productivity, and reduce cost of health care in the workplace.  Send an email to eashrm@gmail.com if you have not received an EVITE and would like to attend this event.

    Ms. Gipson is a licensed marriage and family therapist and owner of Family Counseling Associates in Opelika. She provides services for employers affiliated with American Behavioral Health Care and Ceridian Corporation. In addition to being an EAP provider, Ms. Gipson provides private-pay services to individuals, couples and families in the East Alabama area. She is an adjunct faculty member in the marriage and family therapy program at Auburn University, a clinical member of American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and immediate past-president of Alabama Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
    She is a columnist for the Character Education Council of Opelika, a member of the Envision Opelika Multicultural Task Force, and serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lee County. She  retired as executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of East Alabama in 2008. She has been married for 47 years to banker, Philip Gipson. They have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren.
