News from SHRM
Welcome to East Alabama SHRM
Founded in 1973, the East Alabama Society for Human Resource Management (EASHRM) serves its members through providing professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and the latest information and research in the field. The chapter is an affiliate of SHRM, the world's largest association devoted to human resource management.
With 65 members and growing, EASHRM supports the mission of SHRM: Serve the Professional and Advance the profession. EASHRM also plays an instrumental part in influencing legislation on the national and state levels. Along with the Alabama State Council, our members travel to Washington, D.C. each year to visit members of Congress.
EASHRM was awarded the Superior Merit Award for 13 years from 1997 through 2009. This is a tremendous accomplishment and recognizes the chapter's ability in operations, the professional development of chapter members, promotion of the profession and support of SHRM in partnership.
The East Alabama Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers was named a “Chapter Champion” for its outstanding contribution to the SHRM Foundation in 2008 and 2009. The East Alabama Chapter will be highlighted in the annual Honor Roll brochure for going above and beyond in our effort to raise money to fund research grants, scholarships and educational programs to support and advance the HR profession. A big thanks goes out to all contributors to our monthly 50/50 drawing from 2008 and 2009.
